He oversees all major business functions, ensuring the company consistently delivers high-quality workmanship whilst keeping sight of the companies vision. Ian is known for his steady leadership style, commitment to continuous improvement, and ability to balance commercial priorities with the needs of employees and customers alike.

Ian has shaped the company’s development from a small operation into a respected provider and has doubled the number of staff employed by DVSF over the last 8 years. Beginning his career as an apprentice, he is a time-served plater and Ian brings a hands-on understanding of the industry that shapes his approach to both people and projects. His practical background gives him a grounded perspective on the realities of workshop and site work, strengthening his ability to make informed decisions that support both operational needs and workforce wellbeing.

Ian Bowler

Health, Safety, Quality Manager & RWC

Ian Bowler is the companies Health, Safety and Quality Manager and Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC). He oversees the company’s compliance, safety culture, and welding quality standards, Ian leads the development of safety systems and welding procedures. Specializing in compliance with industry standard and implementing procedures compliant with new and evolving standards, his approach centres on clear communication, and continuous improvement across all areas of the business which has played a key role in helping the company achieve ASME IX status.

With decades of experience in the world of fabrication and welding, Ian has held health and safety positions with companies such as Balfor Beaty Rail and Gascoyne & Beever, he currently holds a NEBOSH General Certificate and Responsible Welding Coordinator certifications and since joining DVSF mid 2014 Ian has played a pivotal role in DVSFs success with regard to Safety and Quality. He has over seen the renewal of our ISO9001 Certification year on year and implemented an Integrated Management System (IMS) which helped DVSF achieve their ISO45001 Certification. Under his leadership DVSF achieved an AFR of 0 for the first time in 2018.

Daniel Clarke

Dan is responsible for supporting the team with project planning, risk assessment, and the implementation of new safe systems of work. He plays a key role in driving continuous improvement and promoting the overall occupational health of employees. Specialising in hazard identification and risk mitigation, Dan conducts weekly on-site audits to ensure safe working conditions and prevent exposure to harm. With a long-standing passion for improving workplace safety, he is committed to creating safer, healthier environments for his colleagues.

A time-served fabricator and welder with more than a decade of hands-on industry experience, Dan brings a practical understanding of worksite realities that strengthens his approach to risk management. Before stepping into his current role, he completed his IOSH Managing Safely certification and supported day-to-day operations, including, leading an eight-month on-site project installing a flood defence system. In 2024, Dan transitioned into health and safety full time, and over the past 18 months he has achieved both his NEBOSH General Certificate and the NEBOSH Level 6 National Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals.

A time-served plater with 18 years in the company, Adam has built his career from the workshop floor upwards, gaining a deep, practical understanding of fabrication processes, workflow management, and site requirements. Over his tenure, Adam has played a key role in developing the company’s capabilities, supporting staff progression, and ensuring that projects are delivered with precision, safety, and a strong team spirit. Adam currently holds the IOSH Managing Safely certification as well as the Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certificate from CITB. These qualifications underpin his proactive approach to risk management.

A coded welder to ASME IX, Shane is on the Gas Safe Register and holds certification in the installation and maintenance of gas systems, including oxygen. He is also trained and competent in the testing and purging of non-domestic gas pipework. This experience and training, combined with his deep technical expertise, allow him to ensure all projects are delivered to the highest safety and quality standards.
